Can I get a mattress delivered next day?
Every mattress in this collection can be delivered the next working day, Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays. The delivery time for each one is shown on its mattress page and again at checkout, so check there if you need it by a particular day.
Next day delivery helps most when a bed can't wait:
- Moving house: so the first nights in a new home aren't spent on the floor.
- A mattress that has given up: sagging, lumpy, or with springs you can feel.
- Guests on their way: a spare room that needs a mattress quickly.
- A child moving into a big bed: many children move from a cot bed to a single somewhere between 18 months and 3 years.
What does next working day delivery mean?
Next working day delivery means your mattress can be delivered on the following working day, and working days are Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. The delivery time for your order is shown at checkout.
Bank holidays don't count as working days, so if you're ordering just before one, check the delivery time at checkout rather than assuming. Once your order is on its way, we email you tracking so you can follow its progress.
Will a next day mattress arrive rolled or flat?
A next day mattress arrives either rolled and boxed or flat and fully wrapped, depending on the mattress, and each mattress page says which. Rolled ones are easier to get upstairs; flat ones are ready to sleep on straight away.

How do I choose a mattress in a hurry?
To choose a mattress in a hurry, start with the size of the bed frame, then pick firmness by how you sleep: medium-soft to medium for side sleepers, medium to medium-firm for back sleepers, and medium-firm to firm for front sleepers.
Most children sleep well on a medium to medium-firm mattress. Every mattress page shows firmness on a 1 to 10 scale, and because brands don't share one scale, compare mattresses within our range rather than against one you tried somewhere else. If you're replacing a mattress you were happy with, look for a similar type and firmness, and if you're stuck between two, ask us.
What should I check before ordering a next day mattress?
Before ordering a next day mattress, check the size of the bed frame, the way into the room, and that the bed will be ready when the mattress arrives. Quick delivery only helps if the mattress fits.
- Measure the frame: take the width and length inside the bed frame and compare them with our size guide. A UK single mattress is 90 x 190 cm and a UK double mattress 135 x 190 cm, while European sizes are 200 cm long.
- Check the way in: a flat mattress needs room to turn at the top of the stairs and through doorways; a rolled one usually doesn't.
- Get the bed ready: put the frame or base together before delivery day, so the mattress can go straight onto it.
- Check raised beds: on a bunk, high sleeper or cabin bed, the mattress must be no deeper than the maximum mattress line marked on the frame.

Can I get a mattress delivered tomorrow?
Every mattress in this collection can be delivered the next working day, so tomorrow is possible when tomorrow is a working day (Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays). The delivery time for your order is shown on the mattress page and at checkout, so check it there if you need the mattress by a set day.
Is next day delivery the same as next working day?
At Mattress Town, next day delivery means the next working day: Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. Bank holidays aren't working days, so they're skipped when the next working day is counted. If you're ordering close to a bank holiday, check the delivery time shown at checkout.
Is a next day mattress any different from other mattresses?
A next day mattress is no different from any other mattress: next day describes how quickly it can be delivered, not how it's made or how good it is. It meets the same UK fire safety rules (BS 7177) as every mattress we sell, and you choose it by size, type and firmness as usual.
How will I know when my mattress is coming?
We email you tracking when your mattress is on its way, so you can follow its progress. Before then, the delivery time shown on the mattress page and at checkout tells you when to expect it. If you have a question about your delivery, contact us through our contact page.
Can I sleep on a next day mattress the night it arrives?
A flat mattress is ready to sleep on as soon as it's unwrapped, and a rolled mattress can usually be slept on a few hours after unboxing. A rolled one takes 24 to 72 hours to reach full shape, so open it as soon as it arrives. If you need the bed that evening, flat is the safer choice.
Can I get a single mattress with next day delivery?
Any single mattress in this collection can be delivered the next working day. A UK single is 90 x 190 cm (3ft x 6ft3) and a European single is 90 x 200 cm, so measure inside the bed frame and check which your bed takes before you order.

Most children sleep well on a medium to medium-firm, supportive mattress. For a bunk, high sleeper or cabin bed, choose one no deeper than the maximum mattress line.
